History

The globally-active company HAAS Maschinenbau GmbH was founded in 1978 by Hans R. Haas. He began a repair service for machines of all kinds with 2 employees. The company rapidly discovered a niche market in the area of construction of special and specialist machines for technically challenging solutions. There followed a restructuring of the company and it began to construct innovative special machines according to customer specifications. The development, construction and production is carried out exclusively in our own factory. In this way HAAS Maschinenbau GmbH achieves more than 80% of the production itself. The rest is made up of purchased parts made by leading manufacturers. In 1992 Oliver Haas, the son of the founder joined the family enterprise and took on responsibility for the area of electro-installation. He successfully qualified as a state-certified mechanical engineer.

In the past 28 years there have been 2 relocations, both in Remscheid however. In 2004 the company moved onto the site of the former AEG-Elotherm, thus allowing the company to expand considerably.
